Point Seeking Fan

Sunday 21st January – Gloucester
The course was held in Gloucester with up to 30 participants from the South West region.
The course was instructed by Morag Quirk and assisted by John Russell - Lau Gar Guardians.
The Fan - Although not designed as a weapon, both men and women have used the fan for self-defence in the past.

The movements featured in this course include striking vulnerable areas as well blocking and brushing attacks aside including a number of floor techniques.

The morning session concentrated on the basic techniques, stances and footwork.
The afternoon session contained a series of short sequences which were eventually put together to form the complete set.
At the end of the day participants formed smaller groups and took to the floor to demonstrate the form they had learnt. The course concluded with a presentation and certificates were awarded for successful completion.

An enjoyable day for all who took part.
